One of two Spokane Valley bars that opened in violation of Gov. Jay Inslee’s directive for non-essential businesses has closed temporarily.

The Iron Horse Bar & Grill, 11105 E. Sprague Ave., had opened on Monday after Spokane County Health Office Dr. Bob Lutz had recommended to the state that Spokane County move to Phase 2 of Inslee’s reopening plan.

But bar management on Wednesday posted a message on Facebook saying it had again closed.

“It was a helluva two and a half day party. Lots of happy faces,” the post reads. “Unfortunately the party is over. Sorry if you missed it. Currently closed until further notice.”

The other bar, The Black Diamond, at 9614 E. Sprague Ave., remained open, according to a Facebook message responding to a reporter’s question.
