‘It’s not like we’re starting over’: Amid huge losses, Eastern Washington basketball coach Joddie Gleason leans on her program’s culture

Given the success EWU’s women’s basketball team enjoyed last season, and given the fact the team’s entire coaching staff is back, it would seem improbable that the Eagles experienced as much roster turnover as they did this offseason. And while it’s not entirely a rebuild, the Eagles are looking to replace 85% of their scoring production from last season.

Key matchup: Eastern Washington post players must contain Oregon State’s Raegan Beers

An All-Pac-12 selection this year, Oregon State’s Raegan Beers scored at least 20 points in 11 different games this season while recording 15 double-doubles. In two Pac-12 Tournament games she made 19 of 32 shots and had four blocks and three steals. She is one reason why the Beavers ranked third in the Pac-12 in shooting (46.2%).
