TDS Telecommunications continues expanding its high-speed, all-fiber internet network into more Spokane-area neighborhoods – giving more residents and businesses access to some of the fastest speeds in the country, along with a sophisticated TV product and phone services.
Already in 2025, TDS is nearing 1,000 new addresses connected to the high-speed fiber network across the region. The company recently launched service in several areas north of Francis Avenue on Spokane’s north side as well as areas between Dishman-Mica Road and University in Spokane Valley. Look for many more neighborhoods to be connected throughout the year as crews improve a key part of local infrastructure, enhance quality of life, and position the community for future growth.
Fiber internet is known as the gold standard of residential internet connections for a reason – it’s the fastest home internet option by far, with speeds blowing away DSL or cable. Fiber is also “future proof,” meaning that as technology continues to evolve and speeds get faster, updates can easily be incorporated into fiber networks.
From remote work and school to online shopping and gaming, having strong connections is essential to daily life. TDS’ mission is to create a better world by providing high-quality communications services – and that’s exactly what the company is working to achieve in the Spokane area.
TDS also continues working to reach more homes and businesses in the Coeur d’Alene area and was recently honored to be named Best Internet Provider and Best Telecommunications Firm in this year’s Best of North Idaho contest.
“TDS is a family-operated company that invests in people and communities. We’re excited to continue working diligently to serve the region for many years to come,” said Sandy Hendrix, TDS associate manager of Field Marketing in Coeur d’Alene.
Beyond providing state-of-the-art services, giving back to the communities it serves is a key part of the TDS mission.
Company officials recently surprised a Coeur d’Alene nonprofit founder, Tess Reasor, with its Hometown Hero Award. Through her work with 208 Recovery North, Benchmark Human Services, the Idaho State Behavioral Health Planning Council, and other efforts, Reasor is a dedicated champion for mental health, recovery, and community support.
TDS representatives including President and CEO of TDS Inc., Walter Carlson, recognized Reasor’s efforts with a Hometown Hero Award, which honors individuals making a difference in the community and especially aims to highlight unsung heroes.
TDS also made a $1,000 donation 208 Recovery North.
“When we put a call out for Hometown Hero Award nominations, we had an overwhelming response – and Tess’ name kept coming up again and again,” Hendrix said. “It’s clear that Tess has made a big impact on so many people, and it’s exactly the kind of person we like to honor with the Hometown Hero Award.”
