Body found in Spokane River; major crimes investigating

A body was found in the Spokane River Monday morning, according to Spokane police.

Law enforcement and fire responded to a call at 11:15 a.m. of a body floating downriver from the Centennial Trail Engineering Bridge located in Gonzaga University’s campus, police spokeswoman Julie Humphreys said.

The department’s Major Crimes division is currently investigating. No other information was immediately available
