Rules of civic engagement
Community members have a right and reasonable expectation to have elected officials adopt Rules of Civic Engagement, for example, rules that encourage the public’s right to participate in local meetings and protect public from bad actors editing recorded meetings by knowingly altering video to discourage public participation and creating a misleading impression of a community member’s intention.
I appreciate the opportunity to directly address our elected officials and have access to related documents posted on website regarding agenda items before public hearing and/or decision.
An example of possible rule, if an individual or group engages in intimidation or causes personal harm to a community member by altering video, they will be prohibited from videotaping public meetings. I believe it is elected officials’ responsibility to report incidents and request videotape(s) be removed from YouTube and/or any social media outlet.
Perhaps, adopting the Rules of Civic Engagement will encourage other community members to share their opinions and suggestions. My view, this will improve County’s image, set common goals/solutions, build a stronger member community, model what we want our children to be, encourage families and businesses to invest in our community, build a level of respect and trust.

CMR on the ticket?
Why is no one considering the fact that former president Donald J. Trump is probably considering Cathy McMorris Rodgers for his vice presidential running mate? It would make sense this possibility is on his mind given her GOP stature in the GOP party and her undeniable allegiance to Trump. He has hinted at selecting a woman on a number of occasions.
