Across the Spokane area, so many residents and organizations work year-round to help make our communities a brighter place. Now, amid the holiday season, it’s important for all of us to do what we can to help those in need.

TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) recently held its third annual Week of Giving campaign, a philanthropic initiative reinforcing the company’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves. Themed TDS Cares giving events were held throughout the company’s service area, resulting in over $100,000 donated to local charities and organizations – including several right here in Spokane.

TDS’ efforts locally included donations to groups like the Spokane Humane Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Santa Express, and Embrace Washington. The company was also a proud sponsor of Christmas Wish, which is celebrating 30 years of helping provide Christmas to those who have fallen on hard times.

“Supporting our TDS communities has never been more important,” said Drew Petersen, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs. “Whether showing this support through in-kind donations, financial assistance, or our associates’ philanthropic efforts, we hope this Week of Giving inspires others to give back to their own communities throughout the holiday season.”

Week of Giving is just one aspect of TDS’ work to be a strong community partner.

Last month, the company was honored to present donations to the Spokane VA and Spokane Veterans Forum in honor of Veterans Day. TDS has also supported groups like Valleyfest, Pet Savers, and many others in 2024.

TDS Cares initiatives occur throughout the year and through the company’s Be Good Citizens program, TDS provides associates with 16 hours of paid time off every year to volunteer at the 501c3 organization of their choice.

That’s all in addition to TDS’ work to bring all-fiber, high-speed internet to Spokane. Services are available to approximately 20,000 homes and businesses in Spokane and Spokane Valley, with work continuing to expand to other areas of the region so more can benefit from this technology. The network also includes a sophisticated TV product and phone services.
