20-year-old caught while burglarizing gas station
A 20-year-old was arrested Monday after breaking a gas station window and attempting to burglarize the store.
Just before 1 a.m. Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Mobile Gas Station at 8915 East Trent.
When deputy Alex Bullion arrived, the widow by the cash register had been smashed , according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. Inside the gas station there was a familiar face, Chase Wilson.
Bullion recognized Wilson, having removed him for trespassing at a Zip-Trip in the same area earlier that evening. The deputy said he had tried to connect Wilson with a shelter or friend, since he didn’t have somewhere to stay. With the shelters full, Wilson was advised to leave the first gas station.
At the Mobile Gas Station, Wilson followed commands and was taken into custody, according to the sheriff’s office.
An initial investigation revealed there was damage to the cash register, a broken glass door and window. A store employee estimated the property damage at $8,000. Wilson allegedly attempted to steal cigars, lighters, Four Loko, and Puff Bars among other things totaling more than $600.
