Lovesac opening specialty furniture showroom at River Park Square

Lovesac, a specialty furniture store, is planning to open its first showroom in Eastern Washington at River Park Square.

The Connecticut-based company last week filed for permits with the city to remodel a second-floor, 1,780-square-foot space at 808 W. Main Ave.

River Park Square is owned by affiliates of the Cowles Co., which also publishes The Spokesman-Review.

Ohio-based Shremshock Architects & Engineers is the architect for the project, which has a valuation of $110,000.

Lovesac has more than 80 retail showrooms nationwide, with two locations in Western Washington.

Shawn Nelson founded Lovesac in 1998 after creating an 8-foot-wide, foam-filled beanbag chair in the basement of his parents’ home in Utah. Lovesac became a publicly traded company in 2018 and has since expanded its product line to include couches.
