Billig, for a safer Spokane

Sen. Andy Billig is my choice for a safer Spokane. When our kids were threatened by explosive oil trains traveling only a few hundred feet from Lewis and Clark High School, he enacted a law that would reduce the pressure in those train cars to a safe level.

When City Council needed help getting independent civilian oversight of our police, he agreed to champion a new law that will restore the will of Spokane voters and our Office of Police Ombudsman. Senator Billig helped council member Lori Kinnear and me get a new law passed that supervises people released from prison with records of auto theft to better protect the community and help them safely rejoin our community.

Andy joined me and other elected officials on daily and weekly COVID-19 response calls this spring so that we could safely reopen our economy. He has worked himself into the position of majority leader of the Senate, which means he can stop Spokane from being ignored and keep us safer into the future.

Vote for balance and safety, vote to re-elect Andy Billig as 3rd District State Senator.

Breean Beggs, Spokane City Council president
