Spokane police investigating shooting at apartment complex near South Perry District

Spokane police responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex near the South Perry District on Thursday morning.

People living in one of the complex’s apartments were scheduled to be evicted Thursday and other residents overheard a fight in the apartment earlier in the morning but did not call police, said police Sgt. Terry Preuninger. Hours later, around mid-morning, people reported gunshots.

Police did not receive any reports of injuries due to the shooting, Preuninger said. KHQ reported it occurred at 623 S. Richard Allen Court.

Officers recovered a bullet from the door of a building in the complex and are convinced a gun was fired, Preuninger said. Police also found an Airsoft pistol, which they are not sure is related to the shooting.

The people in the involved apartment did not give police much information and two of them were arrested on unrelated warrants, Preuninger said. Police have not arrested anyone for the shooting.

People with information about the shooting can call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
