A 21-year-old man was killed early Monday in a shooting in a McDonald’s parking lot in northeast Spokane.

The medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Christian G. Salazar, listing the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head.

Spokane police identified the shooter as 27-year-old Christian J. Robinson and booked him into the Spokane County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Police responded to the McDonald’s at 3416 N. Market St. at about 1:15 a.m. after a woman called 911 saying her friend had been shot, according to a news release. The woman also said the shooter was still at the scene.

Officers arrived within four minutes of the call and found Salazar in a car, but first responders could not revive him, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers “detained numerous people they believed to be involved,” including a man who had left the scene but was found nearby, police said. The suspect, Robinson, was among them.

Police said anyone with information about the shooting should call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
