Post Falls man killed in crash outside Coeur d’Alene on Friday morning

A Post Falls man died in a crash just south of Coeur d’Alene on Friday morning.

Jeremy Shuman, 30, was traveling north in a pickup on U.S. Route 95 when he entered the median, causing the truck to roll over and throw him shortly after 6 a.m., according to Idaho State Police.

Emergency responders attempted unsuccessfully to save Shuman’s life at the scene of the crash, which occurred near mile post 417.

The truck, a 1983 Chevrolet, came to a rest in the southbound lanes, where it was struck by an oncoming log truck driven by Jason Thompson, 45, of Saint Maries, Idaho.

Thompson was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured in the crash, according to police.
