Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture to reopen Tuesday

Following guidance issued by Gov. Jay Inslee’s office, the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture said it will reopen Tuesday for the first time since the pandemic began.

Visitors must purchase or reserve tickets online, as the museum in Browne’s Addition seeks to limit visitors per health guidelines. Museum-goers older than 2 also will be required to wear masks while inside, and staff members will be on hand in all exhibits to ensure social-distancing rules are followed.

The MAC also announced it will extend its exhibit featuring items recovered from the Roman city of Pompeii, which was preserved for centuries in volcanic ash. The exhibit, installed before the stay-home orders, will remain at the MAC through Sept. 13.

The museum announced it will reserve a four-hour window on Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., for visitors in at-risk groups to contract the virus, including senior citizens and those with underlying health conditions. More information is available at northwestmuseum.org
