Body recovered from Spokane River near Upriver Dam
The Spokane Fire Department recovered a body from the Spokane River Thursday morning near the Upriver Dam.
A water rescue team responded after the body was reported around 7:45 a.m., according to a news release from the Spokane Fire Department. Crews used kayaks to free the body from where it was entrapped and removed it from the river after about 30 minutes.
Spokane Police Department major crimes detectives responded and investigated, according to police Sgt. Terry Preuninger. He could not provide additional information about the deceased or the circumstances of their death.
