Mongolian BBQ building new restaurant in Airway Heights
The Mongolian BBQ is building a new restaurant in Airway Heights, according to plans filed with the city.
Mongolian BBQ is planning to move from its restaurant at 10414 W. U.S. Highway 2 to a proposed, 5,000-square-foot building on the northeast corner of 12th Avenue and Garfield Road, according to an environmental review filed in August.
Construction is expected to begin in October for the building. Phase two of the project calls for an additional 6,000-square-foot retail building on the 1-acre site, according to the environmental review.
Spokane-based Bernardo Willis Architects is designing the project.
Mongolian BBQ is a family-owned restaurant established in 1997 at 15416 E. Sprague Ave. in Spokane Valley. Thuy Pham assumed ownership of the restaurant in 2005. She opened a second location in Airway Heights in 2010.
The restaurant offers custom stir-fry bowls with a large variety of sauces, meats, seafood, vegetables, fruit and noodles.
