No sympathy for Avista

In a recent article in the Spokesman-Review, Avista is crying about another increase in our gas and electric rates (“Avista may have to refund $41 million,” Sept. 14).

I am so happy that Bob Ferguson is in on this. I have had two dealings with the man and have had wonderful results from his input; hopefully these demands will be met.

Avista CEO Scott Morris is on his way out, but he claims that the reason for the increase they are asking for is that the operating expenses continue to grow, while customer growth remains stagnant. He really believes that we are going to buy this with all the homes, condos and apartments that are being built around our area? Give me a break, if anything they are at least doubling their income, which he claims in 2018 operating revenues were 1.3 billion, and net income was 136.6 million? Well Wah.

I for one am so tired of every 3-6 months my gas and electric bills going up.
