U.S. Marshals arrest escaped inmate from Spokane in Yakima
U.S. Marshals arrested an escaped inmate in Yakima on Wednesday who jumped from a third story window at a Bureau of Prisons regional re-entry center Aug. 23 in Spokane.
Charles Reedy, 29, allegedly attempted to flee when U.S. Marshals located him in Yakima, but he surrendered after a short standoff, according to a news release.
Reedy was known to have ties to the Yakima area, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. He has multiple arrests in the area, according to court records.
Reedy was sentenced to 77 months in prison by a federal judge in September 2014 for possessing gun ammunition while a convicted felon, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington. He was previously sentenced to more than 23 months in prison for a domestic violence assault in violation of a protection order.
Reedy was booked into Yakima County Jail pending criminal escape charges, according to a news release.
