Thiessen and distortion

Marc Theissen displays the problem of lies and hypocrisy at the heart of the GOP when he states that “Senate Democrats, by contrast, have launched an unprecedented attempt to actually bend the Supreme Court to their wishes” (“Democrats threaten Supreme Court,” Sep. 6).

Let us remember that Senate Republicans violated the Constitution by not holding hearings on Merrick Garland even though the Constitution says they should provide “advice and consent.” If they thought he was unqualified, they could have voted down the nomination. However, they knew he was qualified and that he was a moderate judge. That’s not what they wanted. So, instead, they ignored the Constitution so they could place a radical on the court in order to “bend the Supreme Court to their wishes.”

Yes, Gorsuch and Bart O’Kavanaugh should be impeached, for different reasons, but Buttigieg is the only candidate who has stated the number of seats should be increased. In Theissen’s screed, note that he doesn’t quote a single Democratic senator, he only quotes a Republican senator claiming what he says Democrats are saying. As usual, the shill for the right wing AEI can’t speak to the truth, he can only distort.
