Spokane County burn restrictions to be lifted Friday
Burn restrictions in Spokane County and the Spokane metropolitan area will be lifted Friday.
The Spokane Metro Area Fire Marshals are lifting restrictions put in place on July 24 due to current forecasts for cool and wet weather, according to a Spokane County statement.
The restrictions being lifted are for outdoor recreational fires, including campfires and fire pits.
This fire season brought more rain and fewer long heat spells than in the last two years. However, more than 500 wildfires have been reported in northeast Washington since January.
