Spokane man pleads guilty to attempted robbery of Coeur d’Alene Tribe member
A 19-year-old man from Spokane pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court Wednesday to attempted robbery for his role in an unsuccessful scheme to steal cash from a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe in January.
Isiah James Harrington and co-defendant McKenna Marie Buss allegedly used Snapchat on Jan. 8 to track the victim, who they believed to be carrying a large amount of cash, to the Walmart in Spokane Valley and to a home in Plummer, Idaho, on the Coeur d’Alene Reservation, according to a news release.
Harrington got out of a vehicle and pointed a gun at the victim demanding money, but he and Buss fled the scene without any money when neighbors came out to help, according to a news release.
Harrington is scheduled to be sentenced in federal court in Coeur d’Alene on Nov. 21 and faces up to 15 years in prison.
Buss’ trial is scheduled for Nov. 18.
