Kettle Falls motorcyclist killed by passing car, WSP says
A car attempting to pass a vehicle on State Route 395, one mile south of Addy, hit a motorcycle in the opposite lane, killing the rider.
Scott Curtis Francis, 57, of Kettle Falls, died just after 4 p.m., after being transported to Mount Carmel Hospital.
Francis was the driver of the motorcycle and was wearing a helmet.
The accident occurred just after 3 p.m., when a gray Kia Sorrento attempted to pass going north on SR 395 and hit the motorcycle traveling south.
Frances Marie Lafreniere, 76, of Robson, British Columbia, was the driver of the car.
Lafreniere was wearing her seat belt at the time of the collision. She was transported to Mount Carmel Hospital, where she was treated and released.
Potential charges against Lafreniere are listed as pending by the Washington State Patrol.
