The Porcupine Bay boat launch on Lake Roosevelt reopened to the public Friday.

Only part of the dock will open and no boats may be moored there.

The adjacent campground, day-use area, beach and fish cleaning station remain closed.

According to a Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area news release staff are working to clean up the campground and day-use area.

A landslide blocked access to Lake Roosevelt’s Porcupine Bay Campground in April 2017. Construction of the new road started June 6, 2018. Lincoln County awarded the contract to Condon-Johnson & Associates.
