Kupple of Rams: Ketner Kupp signs with Los Angeles, joining brother Cooper and three other ex-EWU standouts
When asked last season about the professional football prospects of his younger brother, Los Angeles Rams receiver and former Eastern Washington star Cooper Kupp saw a potential self-made NFL linebacker.
But Ketner Kupp – an All-Big Sky Conference talent who led EWU in tackles last season – needed to get his foot in the door first.
“I would never bet against Ketner,” said Cooper, a two-year Rams starter who suffered a season-ending injury last November.
On Tuesday, Cooper hugged Ketner in a back office – as seen on a video posted on the Rams’ Twitter feed – after he signed a rookie free-agent contract with the EWU-heavy organization.
“Kupple of brothers living the dream!” the Rams posted on Twitter.
Now there are two Kupps and five ex-Eagles in Los Angeles.
With the addition of Ketner, the defending NFC champions have five former EWU standouts: Starting outside linebacker Samson Ebukam, center Aaron Neary and receiver Nsimba Webster are the other three.
Webster reported to rookie camp on Monday after the Rams signed him as a free agent.
Ketner also went undrafted last month, but was invited to the San Francisco 49ers rookie camp last week.
He suited up with the 49ers last week but didn’t sign a contract.
