Washington State University has named Mitzi Montoya provost and executive vice president. She is currently the Sara Hart Kimball Dean of the College of Business at Oregon State University, executive dean of the business and engineering division and senior administrator for OSU’s Portland operations and a professor in the College of Business.

Verdis has hired Banet Mutungi as a project engineer. He graduated from Uganda’s Makerere University with a degree in civil engineering in 2011 and worked as a civil engineer in Uganda from 2011 to 2018.

Private wealth adviser Jay Kirkpatrick of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management has been named to the 2019 Barron’s Top 1,200 Financial Advisors list. This is the third time Kirkpatrick has been made the list, which has been published since 2009.
Stifel Financial Corp. has hired Eric Allen as senior vice president/investments at the Spokane Private Client Group office. Allen has 31 years of experience in the investment industry, most recently working for nine years at Wells Fargo Advisors.

Providence Spokane Heart Institute has hired James O. Mudd and Robert C. Scott III, two cardiologists specializing in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. Mudd has 11 years of experience, recently completing a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Scott has 20 years of experience, recently completing a fellowship in cardiology at University of California, San Diego.

Northwest Farm Credit Services has received the 2019 Gallup Great Workplace Award, recognizing organizations for their ability to create engaged workplace cultures. Northwest FCS has won the award three years in a row.
Hayden Homes Chairman Hayden Watson is the recipient of the 2019 Hearthstone BUILDER Humanitarian Award, presented annually by BUILDER magazine and Hearthstone. The award is given to builders who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to making their communities a better place to live and work.
The Washington Rural Health Association has honored Providence Health Care corporate leaders Ron Rehn and Denny Lordan Jr. for their contributions to rural health. Rehn, chief administrative officer of Providence Health Care-Stevens County Ministry, received the Leah Layne Memorial Health Leadership Award. Lordan, coordinator of Telehealth Program for Providence Health Care, received the Outstanding Contribution to Rural Health Award.
