Arizona State baseball edges Washington State 8-7 on walkoff home run
Sam Ferri led off the bottom of the ninth inning with a home run and unbeaten No. 19 Arizona State (18-0, 2-0) rallied to beat visiting Washington State 8-7 in Pac-12 play on Saturday.
Danny Sinatro’s RBI single with one out in the top of the ninth had pulled the Cougars even. Sinatro, Dillon Plew and Rob Teel all had two hits and two RBIs for the Cougars (6-12, 0-2).
A.J. Block got the start for WSU, pitching five innings and allowing four runs on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Davis Baillie was tagged with the loss.
