Plows, could be worse

We would be delighted to have to clear the berm from our driveway left by the snow-removing equipment.

Pend Oreille County chooses not to plow our road. It is a public road deeded to the county approximately 1.5 miles long. There are 13 year-round residents; all but two are retired. Of the remaining residents, two are over 80 and five are over 70. We maintain this road by clearing the snow and sanding in the winter, grading and filling potholes in the summer. This we do illegally because it is public land and does not meet the requirements for a county permit.

Is this right?
