Gonzaga’s Josh Perkins is one of five finalists for the Bob Cousy Award, presented to the nation’s top point guard.

Perkins is joined by Tremont Waters (LSU), Markus Howard (Marquette), Cassius Winston (Michigan State) and Ja Morant (Murray State).

Perkins became the school’s all-time leader in career assists earlier this season. He has 683 assists, sixth in WCC history. His 205 assists this season ranks second on GU’s single-season list. Matt Santangelo had 225 in 2000.

Perkins is five points from reaching 1,500 in his career. He ranks 12th on Gonzaga’s all-time list. He’s averaging 11 points and 6.6 assists per game.

The Bob Cousy Award winner is determined by a combination of fan votes and input from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s selection committee. Fans can vote at www.HoophallAwards.com from March 8-29.

Perkins is also a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award for his efforts in the classroom, community and on the court.
