Gonzaga’s Brandon Clarke collects WCC player of week honors

Junior forward Brandon Clarke, who had 36 points, 20 rebounds and nine blocks in a pair of Gonzaga wins last week, was named WCC player of the week.

Clarke hit 15 of 20 shots and continues to lead the nation in field-goal percentage at 68.9. He’s shooting 70.5 percent inside the 3-point arc. The San Jose State transfer had 21 points and 13 rebounds against Pacific for his 11th double-double this season.

Clarke has blocked 99 shots, second nationally. He’s already the school’s single-season lrecord holder and he ranks sixth on the program’s career list. He’s 15 blocks from the WCC single-season record.

Clarke is averaging 16.6 points and 8.5 rebounds. He’s also third on the team with 37 steals.
