Big Rock addition hike Saturday

Big Rock and the Rocks of Sharon glisten under snow in the Dishman Hills Conservation Area of Spokane Valley. Dishman Hills Conservancy Executive Director Jeff Lambert will lead a hike through the new 120-acre Big Rock addition on March 9. Dishman Hills Conservancy Executive Director Jeff Lambert will lead a hike through the new 120-acre Big Rock addition on March 9. The route is approximately 3 miles with some steep and difficult trails as well as some sections off trail.

Participants should meet at the Stevens Creek Trailhead at 10 a.m.

This property provides access to Big Rock and as a buffer for the Rocks of Sharon. This will also connect with other properties to the east and west.

Snowshoes and hiking poles highly recommended. Bring snacks and water, and dress for the weather.

Event is free, but registration is required. Visit dishmanhills.org.

If the weather is deemed too extreme by trip leaders the trip may be canceled. If so, participants will be notified by 8 a.m. the morning prior to the hike.
