Creators of homelessness

Why is the government exacerbating homelessness? The two-headed monster of the ever-expanding ranks of the publicly overpaid who can afford higher and higher mortgage payments on artificially low-interest, government-sponsored home loans, and our government has actually exponentially raised the cost of housing. And higher housing costs means more homelessness.

But the Inland Northwest here is backward: According to Zillow, the median-priced home is $80,000 more in Post Falls than Spokane, even though public employees are paid far less in Post Falls than Spokane. A lot less.

Why not do what the military does and base any U.S. public pay package for an employment location on what housing actually costs at that location instead of having the enormous public sector of our economy pushing housing costs out of reach for the private sector? And that could reduce homelessness here in Spokane County.
