Javelin Standouts Ortt, Street Receive Gatorade Honors

Today Gatorade announced the Montana Track and Field Boys and Girls Student-Athlete of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year.
Sentinel’s Rylan Ortt, who won the 2019 MHSA Class AA state boys javelin title, was named the Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year today.
The three-sport Ortt earned the award after setting the all-class javelin record this year with a throw of 208 feet, 8 inches, good for number five in the entire country.
While Ortt demolished the competition in the javelin, he will be taking his athletic talents to Bozeman and will play football for the Montana State Bobcats this fall.
Last week, Columbia Falls junior Angellica Street received the award for the girls Athlete of the Year.
Street won her second-straight MHSA Class-A state title this year after a record-setting 156-foot, 11-inch throw that took down current University of Minnesota and former Huntley Project thrower Hailey Poole’s mark of 152 feet.
Street’s record tosses were good for fourth-best in the United States this year.
