Current Hamilton High School quarterback and 2018 Montana Gatorade Player of the Year Carson Rostad announced this past weekend that he will be taking his talents to Missoula to play football for the Montana Grizzlies in 2020. The announcement comes after months of speculation as to where the Bronc quarterback would sling the pigskin next fall. Rostad said on his Twitter page that he’s “beyond excited” to commit to Montana football. During his award-winning 2018 season, Rostad threw for 2,794 yards and 43 touchdowns, while rushing for 694 yards and 12 scores. The 6-foot-3 gunslinger also led Hamilton to a 12-1 record and to the MHSA Class-A title game against Billings Central, all the while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. As Montana’s first known 2020 commit, Rostad is expected to join fellow Montana Gatorade Player of the Year and Billings Senior Gabe Sulser with the Griz when he comes to campus in the fall of 2020.
