Banking

Wells Fargo has named Don Stafford head of Wells Fargo Commercial Banking for the Inland Northwest. Integrating operations for Idaho, Eastern Oregon and central and Eastern Washington, the role stems from the bank’s new regional structure. Stafford has 16 years of experience in financial services, previously working as regional vice president for the middle market banking segment.

Construction

McKinstry has hired Christie Hoffpauer as director of business development for its energy team in the Inland Northwest. The team will be focusing on developing partnerships with new and existing clients in the K-12, higher education, health care and municipal markets.

Education

Community Colleges of Spokane has expanded two key cabinet positions. Greg Stevens, previously the district’s chief administrative officer, will serve as CCS chief strategy officer. Carolyn Casey will work as CCS chief institutional advancement and external affairs officers, after previously serving as the district’s public information officer.

Energy

Avista Corp. has appointed Jeff Philipps to the company’s board of directors. Philipps has been president and CEO of Rosauers Supermarkets since 2000.

Health

Cancer Care Northwest has hired Lisa Shawen as a nurse practitioner. Previously, Shawen worked as a clinical research nurse for Evergreen Hematology and Oncology and Cancer Care Northwest and as a nurse practitioner at MultiCare Rockwood Endocrinology.

Mercer has appointed Dan McMahon as the Spokane office business leader of health. McMahon has more than 25 years of insurance industry experience and previously worked as a sales executive at PayneWest.

Nonprofit

The Spokane Housing Ventures Board of Directors has named John Hancock executive director. Hancock has led his business, Deep Creek Consulting, since 2007, and was previously executive director of the Spokane Symphony, Symphony Endowment and the Fox Theater and was COO of the Milwaukee Symphony.

Super Lawyers Magazine has announced its list of top attorneys, naming Winston & Cashatt attorneys C. Matt Anderson, Kenneth B. Howard and Carl E. Hueber as 2019 Super Lawyers. Super Lawyers is a research-driven rating service of lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

Gov. Jay Inslee announced the winners of the 2019 Smart Communities Awards, including the city of Colville for its 2018 downtown vitalization plan, Colville Together. The awards program recognizes achievements by local leaders promoting growth planning and projects that contribute to their communities.
