Disgrace, dishonor to U.S. flag

Since the early founding days of our country, our U. S. Flag has been the beacon of a great nation. It has been revered, protected, and respected. Many tens of thousands of men and women have fought and died to defend it’s waving colors. Flag etiquette and respect was once taught, and adhered to, from early school days to our dying breath – but apparently no more.

The TV coverage of Trump’s Florida rally showed a tent with a flag drooped over the top like a rain or sun cover. The only time to drape the flag like that is over the coffin of a soldier or honored statesman.

There were people walking around with shirts and other apparel that appeared to be made with a flag or print design. I have seen people with towels and laying on ground blankets printed like the Flag. There is a U.S. Flag Code – people need to read and understand it.

But the worse offense of all at Trumps rally, was the abomination of a large U.S. Flag, attached to a staff, with the addition of a 14th stripe of blue at the bottom inscribed with ” Make America Great Again.”

Shame!

America is still great. We may have our troubles and our faults. Our leaders often fail in the trust that we have given them, but We the People are still great and strong.
