Hecla mismanaged

Ms. Edelen’s article concerning Hecla Mining Co’s. May 24 lawsuit (“Hecla faces investors’ lawsuit,” June 8) describes a company that is asset rich, grossly mismanaged and a huge disappointment to most shareholders.

The recent 2018 Klondex Mines Ltd. acquisition exhibits a management team that does not understand the connection between due diligence and their shareholder fiduciary responsibilities. This Phil Baker-induced disaster should be the culminating management action that stimulates many large institutional shareholders to force the existing incompetents out and to install a team that can maximize Hecla’s assets, clean up the balance sheet and get the Lucky Friday mine into full production again.
