Stuckart’s tactics divisive

Apparently when Ben Stuckart isn’t plotting “midnight missions” to remove Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ campaign signs, he’s thinking up ways to invoke her name to gin up his supporters. Perhaps after he loses in November, he’ll run for Congress? Oh wait. Been there. Done that.

All spring, Stuckart has been serving up a regular diet of campaign fundraising appeals with reliable progressive bogeymen (or in most cases women). One hilarious email asking for immediate support lamented that his opponent, Nadine Woodward, was “crushing” him in fundraising. His latest breathless entreaty, picked up by local media, warns of a new poll out, asking voters about his various controversies and record through the past eight years in office. His response: Stop saying that! Never mind that Stuckart did advocate for his own pay raise, and has in fact reliably supported tax increases.

The truth is, Stuckart is engaged in yet another one of his ongoing cynical attempts to further divide Spokane voters, while tearing down women leaders. It would be laughable, if it weren’t a sad and familiar tactic from him. Stuckart should either own his record and take the heat, or get out of the proverbial kitchen.
