Look within, professor
Professor Jeffrey Omari, who is teaching at Gonzaga University under a two-year fellowship, took offense at his perception of a Make America Great Again hat (“Professor: MAGA hat symbol of racism,” July 11). He perceived it as racist. How is improving the lives of Americans racist? He thought the student was directing a hateful message toward him, his blood boiled, student mockingly grinned, he felt African American professors find their authority defiantly undermined.
It seems that our esteemed professor should look within to find what drives him to look at everyday life and perceive slights to himself. I truly feel sorry for someone so insecure that they must make up imaginary slights. Remember, if you don’t like the way you perceive life, change your perception.
