Spokane Indians pregame: Leury Tejada makes debut on the hill against Tri-City
The Spokane Indians host the Tri-City Dust Devils in the finale of a three-game Northwest League series at Avista Stadium at 6:30 p.m.
The Indians (14-11, first in North) will send RHP Leury Tejada (NR) against RHP Ignacio Feliz (0-1, 3.86) for the Dust Devils (12-13, third in North).
Tejada, 19, is scheduled for his Indians debut. He was the Texas Rangers 10th round pick in the 2018 draft out of Walton HS in the Bronx, NY. Tejada appeared in four games in the Arizona Rookie League this year, going 1-1 with a 7.04 ERA and seven strikeouts over 7.2 innings.

The Tri-City Dust Devils jumped on three pitchers in the first two innings for six runs and the Indians’ comeback fell just short, a 6-5 decision in the second of a three-game Northwest League series at Avista Stadium.
Indians starter John Matthews, the Texas Rangers’ eighth-round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft out of Kent State, gave up three runs on four hits and recorded four outs.
Ex-Indians news: Curtis Terry went 3 for 3 with a solo home run, J.P. Martinez hit a solo shot as well and visiting Down East (61-28) beat Myrtle Beach. Terry is hitting .369 with four homers in 18 High-A games this season.
