Five-star 2020 guard Jalen Suggs schedules visit to Gonzaga

Five-star guard Jalen Suggs has scheduled a recruiting visit to Gonzaga.

Suggs, a junior at Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis, plans to visit Spokane on Feb. 9-10, according to 247sports.com. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Suggs is No. 11 in 247sports’ class of 2020 rankings.

Suggs is also interested in Kansas, Marquette, Florida, Minnesota, Georgetown, West Virginia and Georgia.

Suggs is listed as a combination guard. He averages 24.3 points for Minnehaha Academy (12-2), ranked No. 1 in Class 2A.

Suggs averaged 8.7 points, 2.7 assists and 2.4 rebounds to help the U.S. win the FIBA U17 World Cup last summer. He had nine points, five rebounds, three steals and two assists in a 95-52 win over France in the championship game. He scored in double figures three times in seven games and had two five-assist games.

Gonzaga senior guard Geno Crandall, a grad transfer from the University of North Dakota, is a Minneapolis native. Former Zags forward Sam Dower Jr. is from Osseo, about 20 miles from Minneapolis.

Gonzaga has a big weekend Feb. 9-10 on and off the court. Julian Strawther, a 6-7 wing from Liberty High in Las Vegas, will visit Feb. 8-10. Strawther is No. 33 in the 2020 rankings.

The Zags entertain Saint Mary’s on Feb. 9.
