Maverick station planned at Ruby and Montgomery

A Maverick gas station is coming to the intersection of Ruby Street and Montgomery Avenue, according to city permit data.

The $2.9 million project on the southwest corner of the intersection will also have a 4,300-square-foot convenience store.

Tine Maverick stores in the Spokane region. The Salt Lake City-based company has more than 300 locations in 11 states in the Mountain West, according to its website.

The property is owned by Stephen and Tresa Schmautz and Michael and Karen Schmitz, who purchased the 0.65-acre plot in 2015 for $568,000. Schmautz owns SDS Realty.

The general contractor is EK Bailey Construction, of Ogden, Utah. The project’s architect is Paul Warnock of JZW Architects, and the engineer is BHB Structural, both of Salt Lake City.
