Architecture

American Institute of Architects Spokane has elected its 2019 board of directors. Newly elected officers are President Becky Blankenship and President-elect Kathy Russell, both of ALSC Architects; Treasurer Georgia Harter of NAC Architecture; Secretary Ryan Zane of Bernardo|Wills Architects; and Immediate Past President Dave Buescher of Integrus Architecture. Elected directors are Boyd Lusaretta of MMEC Architecture and Interiors, Brad Hakala of Integrus Architecture, Michael Cole of NAC Architecture and Gale Stanley of ALSC Architects. Stephanie Aden is the board-elected executive director.

Education

Effective June 1, Deena J. González will succeed Lizbeth J. Martin as Gonzaga University’s provost and senior vice president. González previously served as associate provost for faculty affairs at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

Health

St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute has hired two new rehabilitation doctors. Alicia Fuhrman and Michael Goodman will serve on the physiatry team. Fuhrman was previously co-chair of the house staff quality and safety committee at the department of rehabilitation medicine at the University of Washington. Goodman served as medical director of Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson, Arizona.

Tourism

Visit Spokane has hired Meg Winchester as president and CEO. Winchester was previously director at the Galveston Island Convention and Visitors Bureau in Galveston, Texas. She will begin work at Visit Spokane on Jan. 22.
