Washington and FCS power Jacksonville State headline Eastern Washington’s 2019 nonconference football schedule.

The Eagles on Friday released their full 12-game schedule, which features seven away games, including road dates with rivals Montana and Idaho.

EWU’s nonconference stretch begins Aug. 31 at Pac-12 power Washington. The other dates are Sept. 7 at home against NCAA Division II Lindenwood (Missouri), Sept. 14 at FCS playoff regular Jacksonville (Alabama) State and Sept. 21 at Idaho.

Idaho is a Big Sky Conference member, but the Eagles’ matchup with the Vandals in Moscow won’t count in the conference standings.

EWU opens Big Sky play Sept. 28 against former conference member North Dakota. The Fighting Hawks are transitioning to the Missouri Valley Conference after leaving the Big Sky last year.

Other Big Sky home games for the Eagles are Oct. 12 against Northern Colorado, Nov. 2 against Northern Arizona and Nov. 23 against rival Portland State.

Eastern plays four conference road games, including an Oct. 5 date at Sacramento State, Sept. 26 at Montana, Nov. 9 at Idaho State and Nov. 16 at Cal Poly.

Big Sky members Weber State, UC Davis and Montana State – all playoff teams in 2018 – are not on the Eagles’ 2019 schedule.
