Gonzaga-Pacific key matchup: High-scoring guard Roberto Gallinat sets pace for Tigers
Roberto Gallinat gets his second shot at Gonzaga tonight. The first go-around didn’t go well for Gallinat or Pacific.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound senior guard leads the Tigers in scoring (15 points per game) and made 3-pointers (49). He ranks 13th nationally in made free throws (159).
Gallinat and his teammates struggled against the Zags on Jan. 10. He finished with nine points on 3-of-10 shooting and didn’t attempt a free throw for only the second time this season.
Gallinat is coming off one of his best games (31 points) vs. Loyola Marymount on Saturday and one of his worst (three points) vs. Saint Mary’s on Thursday.
Gonzaga likely will stay with the same defenders on Gallinat, primarily Josh Perkins and Geno Crandall, and possibly Zach Norvell Jr. and Jeremy Jones.
