Seattle-based Flatstick Pub, a casual craft beer pub with a nine-hole miniature golf course, is expanding its presence to Spokane.

Flatstick Pub announced Thursday it will open on the ground level of River Park Square’s recently renovated M building at 612 W. Main Ave. in downtown Spokane.

Spokane natives and brothers Sam and Andy Largent founded Flatstick Pub in Kirkland, Washington, in 2014. They’ve since opened locations in Pioneer Square and South Lake Union in Seattle, with another expected to open in Tacoma later this year.

“We have been looking to open a Spokane Flatstick for a few years and couldn’t be happier with this space right in the heart of downtown,” said Sam Largent, owner and CEO of Flatstick Pub, in a statement. “We’re so excited to bring the Flatstick experience to our hometown where we still have lots of friends and family. Our goal with every pub is to create a space where people can be themselves, have fun, and try something new.”

Flatstick Pub will feature 30 taps of local craft beer, cider and wine. It is is also partnering with Seattle restaurateur Ethan Stowell to create its food menu. The pub features golf-themed games such as “Duffleboard,” “stick putt!” and “Cup Hunter,” which were invented by the Largents.

Centennial Properties purchased the former Macy’s, which is connected to River Park Square, in 2016 and transformed it into residential and retail space. Centennial Properties and River Park Square are subsidiaries of Cowles Co., which publishes The Spokesman-Review.

Flatstick Pub is expected to open its Spokane location in summer or fall this year.
