Sandpoint-based Litehouse Inc. has chosen a new president.

Kelly Prior was chosen to lead the 100 percent employee-owned company, which advertises itself as the No. 1 seller of refrigerated salad dressing in the U.S. and Canada.

Prior replaces the former president, Jim Frank, who retired last year. Prior previously was the company’s interim president and chief financial officer.

Prior, 46, joined Litehouse in 2002. He has led a number of initiatives at the company, including taking Litehouse from a family-run company to an employee-owned company.

Litehouse was started more than 50 years ago in the Hope, Idaho, restaurant of the Hawkins family. The company has become a leader in refrigerated salad dressings, dips, cheese and other goods. Litehouse products are made at five U.S. facilities based in Idaho, Utah and Michigan.
