Police seek suspects in Spokane Valley armed robbery

 (Spokane County Sheriff’s Department)

An armed robbery at Browns Park in Spokane Valley late Wednesday night left no one injured and left police seeking two suspects on Thursday.

Spokane Valley deputies, contracted by the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, responded to reports of an armed robbery in the parking lot on the west side of Browns Park on the 3100 block of South Pines Road at 11:30 p.m.

The caller reportedly told police one suspect fired a shot as he or she drove away.

The suspects fled the scene in a gray or silver four-door Chrysler 200 with a shattered rear window, according to a Spokane Valley Police Department statement.

When deputies spoke to the five victims at the scene, they provided similar statements about what happened.

The victims were listening to music in the parking lot when the sedan drove up, according to the police statement.

Two white men with handguns got out of the car and demanded the victims hand over their purse and wallets, the statement said. When a third victim began arguing with the suspects, the suspects reportedly got back in the sedan and left the scene.

One of the men was described as having dark or black braided hair. The second man wore a black bandana covering his blonde hair, according to police.

The driver of the sedan, described as a white female, stayed in the vehicle, the statement said.

Individuals with information on the incident are encouraged to call Major Crimes at (509) 477-6611.
