Lawn Care For All

I was mowing my lawn the other day, and it’s not easy for us older people to do this job. So I got to thinking about Bernie Sanders saying that medical care is a fundamental human right — “Medicare for all” and all that. Also, he thinks decent housing is a fundamental human right. But I think he could really reignite his campaign if he’d take the next logical step and start calling for “lawn care for all” — LCFA.

And not just “elderly lawn care for all” (ELCFA), even though it is harder on us older folks to get out there and make the lawn look good every week. I think it would help reduce the homeless population. That’s right, the homeless. I’m absolutely convinced there are a lotta people living in tents and cardboard boxes because they don’t want to own a home and have to mow the dang lawn every week!

Somebody should tell Bernie that lawn care for all might be the thing that finally reduces the homeless population. There’s a lotta jobs that Americans just don’t wanna do.
