Commission to decide if Spokane Police Ombudsman Bart Logue keeps job

The Office of the Police Ombudsman Commission will discuss the contract of Spokane Police Ombudsman Bart Logue on Tuesday night.

At a special meeting, the commission will meet in executive session to discuss a potential contract renewal for Logue, whose initial three-year contract expires in September.

Logue, a former diplomat and Marine Corps provost marshal, served in the role for seven months on an interim basis prior to his appointment in 2016.

The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at Spokane City Hall. Discussion regarding Logue’s contract will occur in executive session, but the meeting agenda includes a public forum.

Following the executive session, the commission is scheduled to take formal action on Logue’s contract.

The commission is made up of two people nominated by the mayor and appointed by the City Council and one member from each of the three City Council districts nominated and appointed by the City Council.
