Memoir, music bring Ani DiFranco to the Bing on Tuesday
Singer Ani DiFranco has had a lot to celebrate as of late.
First, DiFranco released her memoir “No Walls and the Recurring Dream” on May 7.
In the book, DiFranco tells of her life thus far, both personal and professional, as well as her foray into activism.
Just two days later, she released a corresponding mixtape.
“It’s a flight of Ani songs that I took the liberty of revisiting, solo stylie, twenty… (thirty?!) years later, songs that factor (either literally or figuratively) into my memoir, ‘No Walls and the Recurring Dream,’ ” DiFranco said in a statement.
More recently, DiFranco announced the re-release of her self-titled debut album, which features songs like “Both Hands,” “Out of Habit,” “The Slant” and “Fire Door.” The remastered version “de-cheeses the ’80s-style reverb treatment of the original,” as DiFranco puts it.
In the last few years, DiFranco has released a considerable amount of music, including an EP, “Play God,” in 2016, an album, “Binary,” in 2017, and a live album, “Charlottesville, VA - 5.12.18,” in 2018.
This all brings DiFranco to the Bing Crosby Theater on Tuesday.
