From staff reports

Kids and parents will shoot for free at the Lone Pine Rifle Range west of Medical Lake on May 11.

To attend and sign up, call Jerry Hickman, First Hunt Foundation Chapter President for Spokane, at 315-7087. The event runs from 1 p.m. until dusk and shooters should not bring their personal firearms.

There will be .22 LR at steel targets and paper, clay bird shooting with 20 gauge shotgun and turkey head targets, plus muzzleloading hunting, ducks, turkey decoys and calls. Participants will learn other survival skills, such as how to start fires.
